Skull Candy Ink’d Ear Buds Review

Skull Candy is a company that has been raising their support of motocross and all action sports.  Check out their website at www.skullcandy.com.

This Ink’d is an earbud headphone option offered by Skull Candy.  This is their lowest level as far as price dictates, with the MSRP of $14.99.  With an MSRP of only $14.99, my expectations were really low.  You get what you pay for…most of the time.

The Ink’d caught me so off guard with its sound quality, that I could not believe it.  They will be taking permanent place of my go to headphone over more expensive options that I currently own.  In fact, I am considering purchasing some higher end skull candy products because, if the cheapo’s sound this great, the more expensive options should blow my mind.

The fitment is spot on for my ear hole size, although it comes with 2 other sets of rubber pieces for bigger and smaller holes.  The length of the cord is good, as I have had longer ones that get tangled everywhere and shorter ones that limit movement away from the laptop.

There are many different color options and I like the minimal look of the earbud, as opposed to the “DJ look” with big headphones that a lot of pro racers have been adapting.

The only negative thing so far, is that some of my mp3 files are lower quality.  I had not noticed this too much before I started using the Ink’d.  If you have a lot of user to user downloaded music, or an original walkman cassette (like Bolton) then you will hear some crackling and imperfections in songs.  I am uncertain as to the durability of the product.  Everything seems fine now, even if they crap out in 6 months, $15 is still well spent.

Overall I say that this is a fantastic buy for yourself or as a gift.
